The amazing Atlas

Atlas is a collection of map, atlases contain 2 main types of maps, which is political maps and physical maps.  Atlas is a window to the world. You will find information about landscape, climate, vegetation and many aspect of the world in the atlas. You can see the picture of atlas here.

The color of the ocean in the  atlas is blue, green means land, yellow plateau.

Latitude and Longitude in an atlas

Latitude:
Parallels of latitude are imaginary lines drawn around the Earth from east to west.

Longitude:
Lines of longitude are imaginary lines that run in a north-south direction from the North Pole to the South Pole.

World time zones

The Earth s divided into 24 time zines based in each 15° of longitude. When the sun is directly over the Prime Meridian (longitude 0°), the time is 12 noon (GMT) Greenwich Mean Time.

International Date Line
The International Date Line is the line longitude at 180°.

Map Projections
